Item: 1 small Amana clock

In October of 1994, my mother came out to visit me in Iowa.  On a fun country-autumn shopping day, she bought this clock for me as a housewarming present.  It was made there in Amana and is one of those classic, simple designs, with no ornamentation to distract from its plainness.  I've discovered that the rounded shape is called a "tambour" design, but have not found any explanation for this, except a suggestion that it might have been modelled after Napoleon's hat.  The clock requires only 1 small battery to keep it running, and even that is likely to last for a good long time before the clock needs any maintenance.  It's a really nice thing to have, and a lot of people like it, but it came nowhere near warming the house as much as my mother had by being there.
