Item: various wet articles of clothing

Is it only me, or does some kind of toiletry (lotion, shampoo, something) always explode within a suitcase on a plane?  Today it was this sort of liquidy hair gel which, even from within a plastic bag, managed to leak all over everything, but at least it has a pleasant coconut-beachy smell.

But it was a really nice weekend, in spite of such mishaps. Mary McNamara wrote in the LA Times last week that LAX is one place that still looks more like an airport than a shopping mall.  This is true, but I don't think it would hurt anything if the white-tile tunnel I was in this afternoon could be made to look like part of a nicer airport.
